A great ride along the newly opened Central Valley Greenway from New Westminster Quay to Telus Science World in Vancouver. The CVG is a separated shared bike pedestrian path which was opened in the Spring of 2009 and managed by Translink. It passes near Skytrain station and provides not only a great recreational route but an excellent commuter route for bike commuters. This was a Valley VeloRiders group ride I had originally scheduled for 2 weeks ago but rescheduled for today due to weather. Today’s weather was excellent with sunshine for most of the day, but did noy get too warm. I was joined on the ride by Fred Lanigan and his daughter. It was the first time on this route for all of us and we enjoyed the fact that 90% of the route is separated from traffic and a good part of it goes through some beautiful natural and scenic areas. We were also going to take in the VeloCity exhibit at the Museum of Vancouver but ran out of time.
A very enjoyable day.
Ride On!
