The weather delivered as promised and we had a great ride today. There were only three of us on today's ride, Landa Terblanche, Mel Buhler and I but we had a great time enjoying the ride and the early Spring scenery. We kept to the planned route and stopped at the 18 km point n Fort Langley and enjoyed a nice lunch break at Wendell's Bookstore and Cafe. We encountered quite a few other cyclist along the route going in both directions and while having lunch a group of about 30-40 cyclists came through riding moslty hybrid bikes. The weather was still a bit cool in the shade but the sun was quite warm making for a very enjoyable ride and a couple of hours exercise and fellowship. Here is the map of today's route.
I have uploaded some photos taken on the ride which can be viewed by clicking on the gallery in the lower left, but in the meantime here are a couple of photos.
Landa. We stopped here to re-group after a bit of a climb up 240th.
Landa and Mel. We just arrived back at TWU at the end of the ride.
Hope to see more on the next ride when the weather is a little more predictable. Stayed tuned for information on another ride this month, the Bike the Blossoms ride. I will be posting some information about plans for the ride in the next several days.
Richard.
